The "Grotto", a sea cave that was carved out by by centuries of waves beating against the cliffs, is a definite MUST on everyone's must-see list. Not brave enough to jump in the cold waters? How about a hike on one of the many nearby trails. Learn more.

Tobermory Shipwreck

Fathom Five National Marine Park

 

Tobermory is known as the Scuba Diving Capital of Canada, and for good reason. Fathom Five National Marine Park is Canada's first, with over 20 shipwrecks and 19 islands in it's reach.Over 8000 divers from around the world visit this National Park annually. 

 

You can hop on a tour boat from Tobermory which takes visitors to the shipwrecks and to one of the most popular islands in Park - Flower Pot Island. Learn more.

 

Flowerpot Island

Flowerpot Island

 

Spend the day hiking, swimming and visiting the "flowerpot" rock pillars. Originally there were three flowerpots which were created by the waves pouding at the cracks in the limestone. While one fell down in 1903, the other 2 remain as strong pillars next to the lake. 

 

Flowerpot Island can only be reached by boat, and there tours leaving often from Tobermory. Those with experience might enjoy kayaking or canoeing, or pack a picnic lunch and check out the lightstations. Learn more.

Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

 

Have a blast exploring the remains of over 20 historical shipwrecks that lie beneath the crystal clear waters. In 110 feet of water off Echo Island lie the remains of the Barque Arabia, or perhaps you'd rather venture ships like the 213 foot steamer, W.L.
